MomCentral – Mix & Mash Recipe Book

mom central

Nutrition for your baby is a worrisome topic, especially when it comes to actually getting them to eat what you want to them to.  Eebee’s Adventures, a company aimed at helping babies experience learning first-hand, has come up with a fun and creative way to get babies to enjoy eating, and also create a learning experience that is fun and tasty: let them cook with you!

The mix and mash recipe book, the first Mom and baby cookbook to be published, comes with a play-by-play DVD for Moms and helpful hints on when your baby is ready for solid foods.  The DVD, which was co-produced with Parents TV, outlines the nutritional benefits of each recipe as well as the lessons you can have with your children while preparing each dish.  These lessons are affectionately called “eebee moments” and are also being featured on Parents TV.

The book is printed on baby board book stock, so it will be sturdy enough to withstand your cooking adventures with a little one! The recipes are for babies 6 months and older and they range from to-fee finger food (cinnamon and ginger covered tofu) to blueb-eebee soup (a syrupy mix of blueberries babies can scoop on their own).  Each recipe is designed to encourage a playful interaction between you and your child and also sets the stage for valuable lessons to easily take place.  For example, by encouraging your child to help you “mix and mash” the foods, you will be able to discuss words, colors, sounds, shapes, and textures all while having fun making healthy food!

You can purchase this book at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1402773757?ie=UTF8&tag=momcentral&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1402773757and check out Eebee’s other products on Amazon or www.eebeee.com.  In the words of the creators, “if you can mash it, smash it, oosh it, goosh it, shake it, coat it or stir it, your baby can participate in the process of preparing meals.”

Oh where do I start with eebee? I have continued to be amazed and impressed with this company and the things that it has taught my daughter. She absolutely loves eebee and goes every where with her eebee puppet, has me read her all of her eebee books every night before bed and loves to watch the DVDs all day long. Our world has been filled with eebee and I am loving it! She has learned colors, opposites and more from this series and with each new product her mind opens to learn more. I love seeing her learn and I love it even more when she runs to grab her big brothers hand and drags him over to the TV to show him what she is watching.

The DVD’s are geared for ages 6 months and up and 12 months and up. My little one really enjoyed all of them. They are entertaining with cute graphics. I really feel like she is getting an education while watching the movies.

I recently introduced you to eebee’s adventures, a cute little colorful character with bright spikey hair. eebee’s adventures are designed to engage you and your baby with rich play experiences that provide powerful lessons that memorizing letters, numbers, colors and shapes simply can and do not. The DVD series gives parents the tools that allow you to explore along with your baby and making it possible for your little one to learn about whats going on in the world around them. Unlike most dvds available out there, eebee’s adventures, encourages the parents to interact with their children and have a hands on approach to playing and learning.

Watching and, importantly, “doing” eebee’s adventures will allow you and your baby to see and learn first-hand what happens when you explore a crinkly, crunchy, smooth and bumpy paper mountain or roll, bounce, bop, bang, slide and toss your way around a world of balls and ramps. eebee has books, DVDs, clothing, gift sets and even it’s very own eebee plush toy ! It is suitable for babies from 6months onwards. Even offered is an extremely cute eebee beanie, simply adorable!

Our take on eebee’s adventure…..

I loved it! eebee’s adventures is definitely a huge hit in our home. I have a 14 month old who like most babies is all over the place and into everything. I couldn’t wait to try the DVDs out on her and along with the interaction of the hand puppet we were sent. To my amazement my little one sat there and watched pretty much the entire movie, and for you mommies out there you know how rare that is. She bobbed her head to the catchy tunes and did a little dance. The hand puppet she just adores, with us using eebee hand puppet as a “tickle monster” or her older brother and sister putting on a show for us all. This series is like no other. I plan on trying many of the interactive play activities that they show on the dvds. I am all for interactive play with your children and allowing their little mines to explore. Simply “doing” is the best way to teach your children. We lead by example in our everyday life so why not while playing allow them to be involved with learning.

Readaholic: Review: eebee’s Adventures – Here To There

eebee’s has done it again! Another hit that teaches using fun to guide the way. Your toddler will learn all about standing, sliding, and clambering around. They’ll learn about steps and over pillows. They will also learn how to go over or get around certain objects. My nephew was totally in a trance with this book. It’s so great to see a child with a thirst for knowledge.

Family Ties and Growing Pains: Eebee’s Adventures

Screen shot 2009-11-10 at 12.54.43 AM

I was very excited to hear that Sterling Company recently published two beautiful new board books from Every Baby Company: Eebee Adventures Make it Happen and From Here to There. Both board books are beautifully photographed and priced at $6.95. They are for ages 6 months and up. Every Baby company is an award winning infant and toddler brand.

I was given the opportunity to review these two new books from Eebee’s Adventures. Every Baby Company sent me a free copy of each to review. I must begin by saying that love everything that Eebee represents. He represents the importance of children learning through play. Eebee shows how children learn through exploration and discovery. There is something about eebee that makes children love him. My daughter will be two in a couple of weeks and was very very excited once she saw these books.

Eebee’s Make it Happen and From Here to Thereteach children through play just like the dvd’s do. The books are very colorful. They shows eebee along with other children discovering new things. Make it Happenshows opposites by displaying different activities such as turning a flashlight on and off. From Here to Thereshows how things get from one place to another, such as toddlers discovering stairs and slides.

simple: Eebee’s Adventures – Board Books!

Board books have always been one of my girls first and favorite toys. Hopefully cultivating a lifetime of love for books, I always try to have tons on hand. An avid reader myself, I think my girls always wanted to mimic me, there for devouring their sturdy board books.

What makes a “good” board book? Having many years of board book turning under my belt, I think I’ve figured it out.

  • Fun colors
  • Easily identifiable images
  • large, clear fonts
  • Fantastic graphics or photographs

We’ve long been cheerleaders for anythingeebee’s – and they now have 2 new board books out. The newest edition to the eebee adventure family, Make it Happen and Here to There are board books that meet all my criteria for a good starter book.

Make it Happen is a book all about teaching opposites. Fun concepts are set to motion – turning on/off a flashlight or getting a cloth wet then drying it off. Here to There is all about about encouraging movement through simple activities – crawling on the blanket, then off again.

With his orange face and crazy hair, eebee will captivate your little baby with it’s beautiful pictures and easily tunable pages.

GET YOUR OWN! You can purchase both books ($6.95 each), Here to There and Make it happen on the Every Baby’s Adventure website or also at Barnes & Noble.

Holiday Gift Guide: Eebee’s Adventures Review and Giveaway

eebeelogo

100_2472A few weeks ago, I briefly introduced Eeebee and posted an informative video on how Eebee encourages parent and child interaction in each of his adventures. If you missed that post and would like to view the creator interview video, please visit the following link:Have You Heard about Eebee?”

About Eebee…

Eebee’s adventures are designed to engage you and your baby with rich play experiences that provide powerful lessons that memorizing letters, numbers, colors and shapes simply can and do not.

We know that when your child is playing, she is actively trying to figure things out about objects and people—why did that ball roll and the block slide? How did he do that? Why did that happen?… The questions, theories and solutions just continue to evolve as your child develops and masters a myriad of critical physical, social and intellectual skills—playing and learning about how the world works and he works in it.

Every parent can recount a time when their infant headed straight for that curtain to give it a pull; or happily opted to tear the wrapping paper rather then engage with the gift; or tried and tried to get the round peg into the square hole; or simply offered you whatever was in their hand.

Every baby learns by doing.

My Thoughts…

The good people over at Eebee’s Adventures site sent my daughter and I three DVD’s (Exploring Real Stuff, All in a Day’s Play, and Figuring Things Out) and an Eebee Hand puppet for review.

Each of the Eebee Adventures DVD ’s contain three ten minute sections of Eebee and his friends exploring and trying out new things like turning on and off lights, tearing paper, playing peek a boo, and climbing up blocks. The fact that I can pop it in my DVD player and it auto starts is a great feature too!

My daughter has a lot of fun watching Eebee though she is 16.5 months old and has already learned all the skills taught in these videos. She still enjoys watching Eebee and the other babies, singing along, and dancing to the music! I’m including a video I took of my daughter watching Eebee. As you can see she’s pretty excited and keeps saying Eebee over and over again! I also have the Eebee theme song stuck in my head, such a catchy tune!

eebee_3I really like the fact that Eebee’s Adventures encourages time with parents to interact with their children. I couldn’t agree more with the fact that this is one of the best designed DVD series out there to engage you and your baby. Many of Eebee’s products  have even received Parents’ Choice Awards!

Eebee adventures also has many other products available that promote parent and child interaction such as books and play gift sets.

I would like to encourage you to check out Eebee.com as you can access some well put togetherprintable activity guides!

Mommy Loves Giveaways: eebee’s adventures Review + Giveaway

I will admit that I let my 10 month old watch more TV than I should. We usually have the TV on while he is playing, and sometimes he gets interested on what we are watching, but usually he doesn’t pay much attention. I was happy to receive some eebee’s adventures DVDs to review, because if he is going to watch the TV, I feel good if it’s something to help his development.

Eebee’s adventures are designed to help a baby learn through play. The great thing is that eebee’s adventuresencourage and show how parents can get involved. These DVDs focus on developmental skills that baby’s use for the foundation of all future learning.

When I showed Max the videos, he absolutely was enthralled by them. He stood and watched eebee and the baby’s on the screen with such focus. I have never seen anything like it. It was adorable. I also really liked that the DVDs gave me LOTS of ideas on how to involve Max with everyday items, and how he can learn from them. We both had a lot of fun with these adventures.

Figuring Things Out focuses on the learning that happens when a baby’s developing motor skills support her new natural curiousity and new found independence. It uses fun activities like turing the light on and off, building with blocks, and scaling a pillow mountain.

Exploring Real Stuff eebee and playmates experiment with cups and scoops, paper and boxes, and balls and blocks to make a range of discoveries about the physical world around them.

All in a Day’s Play celebrates all of those teachable, unplanned learning moments that fill a baby’s day, like playing with the laundry, creating your own special games, or exploring sounds and music with pots, cups and a spoon.

I also received an eebee hand puppet. Max adores him, and he is quickly becoming a plush favorite. He loves to chew on eebee’s hair. :)

One lucky reader is going to win some eebee’s adventures DVDs!!

Ladybugs and Tonka Trucks: eebee’s ~Revew and Giveaway~

If you haven’t heard of Eebee’s adventures yet, you must live under a rock. It is a really great TV, DVD, toy, and book series created by Every Baby Company. We all know that babies learn by “doing.” Simple things like rolling a ball, or tearing paper is magic for a baby. That’s why Stephen Gass developed eebee’s Mix&Mash adventures in the Kitchen for Baby & You. It is the first ever cooking-with-your baby book from eebee’s adventures. It combines nutrition, learning, and family time with your little ones. But I know what you’re thinking. “Toddler/baby in the kitchen=big messes.” And your probably right, but it is the perfect solution for families that want to start good nutritional habits early. All of the recipes encourage babies to learn, feel, touch, mash, shake, oosh, and goosh which is a really fun way to learn. The book is published by Sterling Publishing Co. that has been one of the world’s leading publisher’s in non-fiction books for over 60 years. The book is on baby board which is also good because it is full of fun pictures and colors that baby can enjoy while making recipes right out of it. And you don’t have to worry about getting food all over it, you can just wipe it off.

Each book comes with a DVD that includes the recipes done with eebee, Kristy Glass (eebee’s play partner) and Parents TV anchor Juli Auclair. They also show the recommended age, servings, and ingredients. These are also fun to watch with your baby. Moochie actually watched them, and she’s not much of a TV watcher-at all. It was fun, engaging, and informative. It also includes fun ways to play and explore your baby’s surroundings. Things as simple as pillows, a measuring cup, and a ball come to life for children. I personally had not thought of these. You don’t need a noisy extravagant toy to learn, you can have just as much fun if not more right in your own bathtub.

Eebee’s adventures has won 20 national parent’s choice awards such as: Parenting Magazine’s “DVD of the Year”, NAPPA GOLD award, National Parenting Center Seal of Approval, and iParenting Media’s Outstanding Product award.

The Moochie Test: We tried out the blueb-eebee soup. Sounds complicated right? WRONG! 3 ingredients total, and one is optional:

1. 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries.

2. 1/4 cup water.
3. 1 tbsp. plain yougurt. (optional)
She helped wash the blueberries and ate a few along the way. Then she helped me pour the water which she really enjoyed, and wanted to do it again. Then we placed the bowl in the microwave for 1 minute. Let cool. She then helped me add the yogurt with a spoon which turned out to be a lopsided smiley face. After we mixed in the yogurt she laughed when the color changed. She loved the soup, and loved the mess even more. (I wish I had pictures, but my camera was M.I.A)

Eebee’s Mix & Mash Adventures in the Kitchen for Baby and You. eebee’s is bringing you a brand new adventure starting today, November 4, and you can purchase this fun set at Barnes and Noble.

Ever thought of bringing baby in the kitchen to help prepare her meals? Yeah I can’t say I really would have before I was introduced to eebee’s. This is the first ever cooking-with-your baby book by eebee’s Adventures and it combines nutrition, play and family time. Sounds good to me, I’m in :) The Washington Post states that there is an increasing trend in feeding babies ‘real food’ opposed to the more traditional jar bland baby food. Not just for healthy reasons either but because it’s more economical, and us moms are all about that! The number of families eating together every night and kids’ cooking classes and cookbooks are on the rise. Kids’ participating in meal prep and there is data that states that kids who help eat healthier.

Zero to Three is a national nonprofit organization helping improve the lives of infants and toddlers. Here is what they say:

  • When you feed your baby you are doing a lot more than providing the nutrition to support her physical growth. You are also nurturing her social, emotional and intellectual growth.
  • Mealtime is more than just food; from baby’s point of view, it’s time to take it all in and explore and feel close to her parents.
  • While it can be messy, letting your baby explore her food helps her eventually learn to feed herself. This builds her confidence that she can take care of herself and prepares her to take on new challenges.

Baby mealtime is easier, smarter and fun. You can mash it, smash it, smoosh it, goosh it, shake it, coat it, or stir it. “Mix&Mash is an “organic” extension of eebee’s everyday, everywhere approach to celebrating the magic in a baby’s day to day experiences,” says Stephen Gass, president of Every Baby Company.

The oversized baby board book features 6 nutritious and simple hands-on-baby food recipes, playful rhymes on each page, and pictures of eebee and real babies engaging in the interactive experiences and discoveries with real food.
