Las Aventuras de eebee

Last week V-me launched a new parenting series of mini-episodes in Spanish called Las Aventuras de eebee which is hosted by a superstar Latina we all know well-Thalía.

Thalía, whom we know mostly as a pop singer and from her successful roles in Mexican telenovelas, became a mamá two years ago and now is sharing screen time with an adorable and colorful baby puppet called eebee-“the baby’s baby”-in entertaining vignettes that help parents of infants aged 6 months and up transform everyday moments into learning that lasts. Activities based on the latest early child development research provide enriched play experiences for parent and baby alike.

I’m glad to see V-me continue to enrich their daily Spanish pre-school block and parenting shows, which already includes the original and award winning series “Los Niños en su Casa“, and to see a Latina with a superstar following shine her spotlight on our niños.  To me this is a sign that more and more attention is being given to us parents raising our children to speak Spanish as well as English and to give us valuable resources for our journey.

If you haven’t already, you can catch Thalia in her new role with eebee from Monday to Friday on V-me. Click here to check your local listings.

Oh, and I just noticed V-me has created a new Facebook group for Padres. It looks like it’s so new that word still hasn’t gotten around. How about if SpanglishBaby friends make some noise and we become the first Fans on their page? This is a great place to get your voice heard. Go here to join.

What eebee Does

Eebee is very much like a baby, he said. The full-body puppet doesn’t talk; it simply discovers. Eebee and an adult play with boxes, fill and dump cups, and crinkle paper. They play tug-of-war with socks and rip up junk mail.

Each segment is designed to engage the parent and baby with rich play experiences. Gass hopes that viewers will not only watch, but also will participate. The segments create a brief moment that a parent and child can share and extend into their real lives, Gass said.

“Eebee’s adventures,” previously available only on DVD and via on-demand services, has received 20 national parenting awards, including Parenting Magazine’s DVD of the Year Award.

Larry Sichter, chief of affiliate relations for AFN Broadcast Center, is equally enthusiastic about the partnership, which comes in response to a recent increase in births on military bases.

“We looked at ‘eebee’s adventures’ and feel it’s a very appropriate program for our target audience,” Sichter said. “It’s a perfect fit for us.”

The five-minute segments will appear between “Sesame Street” and “Bear in the Big Blue House” on AFN/family, weekdays at 7 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Who’s eebee?

Have you met eebee?

Chances are you will soon, especially if a toddler or baby lives under your roof.

Eebee is a neither male nor female. Eebee does not represent a specific race or culture.

But that doesn’t mean the character isn’t colorful. With limbs that are red, yellow, purple and blue and with spiky multicolored hair, eebee can stop little viewers in their tracks.

Thanks to a partnership with American Forces Network (AFN), “eebee’s adventures” will be broadcast twice daily to nearly 1 million military families stationed overseas.

Stephen Gass, co-creator of “eebee’s adventures” and president of Every Baby Co., is excited about eebee’s new playmates.

Gass brings to the show 20 years of experience in children’s media and educational product development. A child psychologist and former director of education for Sesame Place, Gass began to see that the infant media market seemed overly serious.

Television shows and DVDs geared toward toddlers and babies focused on either classical music segments, repetition of numbers and letters, or intense graphics and busy screens.

“What seemed to be missing was somebody saying that it’s OK to just interact and have fun,” Gass said.

eebee

I have another great giveaway from the wonderful people at eebee. I really love this company and everything about it. They have really helped my daughter along as she is growing with their DVDs, books and toys. It is one of the only things that she has stuck with, and she knows when she doesn’t have her eebee puppet with her, or we haven’t seen the shows for the day.

I recently got the opportunity to review one of their books and I couldn’t be happier with it and my daughters interaction with eebee.

Laundry Time

Laundry Time Adventures – enjoy soft & fluffy adventures on every page!

There’s a load to learn from doing laundry with eebee! Take the soft towels out of the laundry bag and put them “into the washer.” Spin the peek-a-boo washing-machine wheel to wash the laundry; hang eebee’s pajamas on the line; then put them away in the drawers. When the laundry’s done, tuck eebee under a fluffy, fleece blanket. . . then enjoy creating your own laundry time adventures! Your child will explore words, sounds, and textures; exercise fine-motor skills; play imaginatively. . . and get the laundry done!

My daughter just loved this book, and it has been her favorite since she got it. She crawls up in my lap and says, “Lawndee”, and when she uncovers eebee she laughs like there is no tomorrow, I love that sound. Which brings me back to my original comment about how much I love this company and its products, anytime a product can bring that wonderful laughter sound of my child to my ears gets major props from me.

Eebee Adventures Review and Giveaway! (US and Canada)

Eebee Adventures will capture your child’s attention by showing Eebee play with normal household objects. During the course of each adventure you will also see real life toddlers participating in each activity also. Some of the activities shown in the movie include playing in cereal, playing peek-a-boo, knocking the sippy cup on the floor, fun with a flashlight and lots more.Eebee Adventures encourages parent and child interaction by showing lots of different ways to interact with your children. One of the bonus features included on each DVD are explanations for why each activity will help promote your child’s development. The best thing about this is that the activities are all expensive and mostly use items that you will already have in your home. With the current state of the economy finding inexpensive ways to interact with our children and while promoting development is crucial.

Eebee adventures also has many other products available that promote parent and child interaction. We were lucky enough to be able to review the Eebee puppet along with the dvds. There are lots of other products available and I will definitely be checking them out before Brea’s next birthday!

Eebee Adventures also has a music bonus feature where each activity is shown as a music video. This is great to play while you and your child are doing some of the activities shown. Or if your child is like mine and loves music they may just enjoy watching the music videos!

Our Opinion of Eebee Adventures . . .

I love that this promotes parent and child interaction and Brea and I will definitely be trying out some of the activities. I think one of the first ones on our list would have to be the laundry play. I am hoping that while we are playing I can figure out a way to get the laundry folded too! I also love that even though it is beneficial to me it still keeps Brea occupied while I get a few things done around the house (or the blog!)

Brea appears to be fascinated with Eebee and even asks to watch it on a regular basis. Eebee usually holds her attention throughout the adventures. Although she is 22 months old so this is not always the case. I have to say that for it to hold her attention for anytime at all says a whole lot.

Brea and I both enjoy playing with the puppet. She thinks Eebee is great and usually we play a tickle game with the puppet. She loves to be “tickle”

My Organized Chaos

I recently introduced you all to eebee. He’s an adorable character with really bright and fun clothing and spiky hair. And no, it’s not my Sophia! (Sorry babes, I had to!).Eebee’s Adventures is a DVD series featuring eebee, and it provides the tools to explore and learn the world around them. After all, from the moment they get uptil they go to bed, they are trying to take in everything they can about this new world. Am I right parents? They don’t stop! Yet, this is not just a turn it on and let the kids watch kind of DVD, Moms and Dads. These DVD’s encourage parents and babies to interact and play together, which enables babies to learn through this play.

We received the eebee threebee, the 3 series of DVD’s. Each of these DVD’s have three 10-minute adventures, with original music and lively songs. There is also commentary and interviews by developmental experts. There are many ideas for teching while play in these DVD’s. Some of them I have never thought of.

By Watching and doing together, eebee’s adventures allows babies to learn first-hand what happens when you explore. The idea and premise is simple really. After all, when the twins started banging toys on a container, it wasn’t just for fun. They were critically thinking, problem solving and exploring the sounds and the loudness. I could let them bang on that container, or I could actively increase this pattern by showing them the difference between the sounds on various sized bowls etc. Also using verbal skills, such as patting quietly and whispering and then banging and becoming excited, I could teach them the value of pitch, volume and cause and effect.

Eebee’s adventures acts on babies’ natural curiosities and encourages them to share discoveries and build upon social interaction. These DVD’s are the beginnings of complex thinkers, merely through play. And it’s fun and such a great way to bond with baby!

You can purchase eebee’s Adventures at eebee.com. Here’s a deal: purchase 3 DVDs and you’ll get Free Shipping AND 10% off! Check out their developmental toys, clothing, books and more!

Review: eebee’s Adventures – Laundry Time book

We kid tested and parent tested this Laundry Time book. My nephew spent almost a whole hour playing with this book. He is an extremely smart kid and he’s already addicted to books. (This was inevitable because I’m his aunt.) This book is an interactive way to teach a children how to do laundry. When you open the book, the first page has a laundry bag (pouch) that contains 2 towels (the square cloth feels the same way a towel feels, which will get your child familiar with them). Then you take the towels out of the laundry bag and place them in the machine (this page has a hole in it to put the towels through). There are pair of pj’s on the next page that your child places on the clothes line (there is velcro on the pj’s and below the clothes line to keep the pj’s on the line.) Then your child will take the clothes off of the clothes line and put them away (there are 2 pouches, the top one is for the shirt because the ribbon attached to the shirt is short and the bottom one is for the pants because the ribbon attached to the pants is longer.) The last step is for your child to tuck eebee in with a very soft blanket.

Damien really enjoyed this book. I’m definitely going to have to get him some more eebee books because not only do they entertain him, they work his brain.

If I didn’t convince you that eebee is wonderful, maybe this will. Laundry Time won the National Publications Awards for Parenting Resources. You can read the full details here.

So far eebee’s has received an A++ from a mom, an aunt, and a grandma. I can’t wait to see what new products they will produce.

Thank you to Rebeca from Flair Public Relations and Every Baby Company for sending me this DVD to review.

Review: Eebee’s Adventures – Exploring Real Stuff! DVD

My nephew, Damien, and I watched an Eebee’s Adventures DVD last night that was about exploring real stuff. As soon as I put the DVD in, it was like Damien was in a trance. His eyes stayed glued to the TV even as the credits started rolling.

This DVD teaches children to feel the texture of different things. The children in the video play with Cheerios and Rice and learn to fill bowls up and to dump them out. They learn about the many things that can be done with paper, such as ripping. This DVD teaches children to experiment in order to learn what can be done with different objects. This is the perfect DVD to teach your young child to explore and make sure they have fun while learning.

Thank you to Rebeca from Flair Public Relations and Every Baby Company for sending me this DVD to review.

Rave and Review

Eebee’s Adventures Toys, Gifts and DVDs by Every Baby Company

It’s oftentimes hard to predict what toys and games baby will take to and which will only hold her attention momentarily.  When I was introduced to eebee’s adventures by Every Baby Company, I had my fingers crossed that she would think they were as cool as I did.  Apparently not a concern in this case, as the eebee product line became some of baby’s favorite toys instantly.

Shapefitseebee300 Her absolute favorite is the If The Shape Fits eebee Playset that combines baby’s two very favorite things: wild hair and putting her toys in random places.  The 12” eebee doll takes care of the wild hair portion and looks exactly as he does on the DVDs – cute, playful and cuddly, which just so happens to be baby’s exact requirements for playmates.  He comes with four plush shapes that fit around his arms and legs and can be removed and placed on a surprisingly large number of things in an average household, which takes care of the random toy placement desire nicely.

The If The Shape Fits eebee Playset is designed as an alternative to the boring shape and stacking toys we had as kids and is one of the coolest toys I have seen in a long time.  Since the shapes are expandable they not only fit around eebee’s arms and legs, they also fit around virtually anything under 12” in diameter, making for a game that changes depending on which room we’re playing in.  Of course, baby’s absolute favorite place to put the shapes is on me because she knows it’s going to lead to kisses.  It also happens to be my favorite as well because I know those kisses are going to elicit that beautiful belly laugh which is pretty much the goal of just about every game I play with her.  Ahhh, a game that everyone wins.

Toys_snuggletime-lg Another favorite eebee toy is the Snuggle Time eebee Playset that includes a super soft blanket eebee with his signature wild hair and a cuddly blanket body that has even more eebee dreadlocks attached around the blanket trim for baby’s enjoyment.  She absolutely loves carting the eebee Blankie around with her and dragging him along wherever she goes.

The Snuggle Time Playset includes a great little DVD called “Laundry List” which was the first show baby ever watched on T.V., thus beginning our eebee relationship.  “Laundry List” absolutely captivates baby’s attention and even has been known to induce that adorable little belly laugh from time to time.  I really didn’t expect the videos to be such a hit with her, considering she’s just barely one and hasn’t had any previous screen-time, but I think the slow pace of the film is geared right towards where she’s at.  She will sit slack-jawed and stare at the screen when eebee is on as if her best friend is in the room with her, with her attention clearly focused on what is happening on screen.

I was completely surprised that eebee films were not the fast paced toddler cartoons I was used to, but rather a relaxed set of shots that were not story-line driven.  Clearly baby is not old enough to appreciate storylines and plots at this time, so I was relieved that eebee was focused on small interactions instead of an actual story that you had to follow.  Broken up into short segments that profile ways that you can engage your young child with every day objects and situations, the film is more about encouraging interaction than it is watching action.  In fact, there is very little action on the screen at any one time and nearly no moving shots, which I thought was great because it didn’t over stimulate baby but kept her attention the whole time.

CIMG6235 To me, one of the hardest facts of parenting has been that the only way to really tell if your child is ready for the next level of play is just by slowly introducing it and seeing how they do with it.  There is no real list to follow for baby’s first year and no one to send you gentle reminders that baby should be playing “So Big” by now or is ready for more structured playtime.  Oftentimes when I am sitting and playing with baby, I will fall back to the three stand-by games that every kid since 1801 has played with their parents and then draw a blank as to other ways I can encourage more interaction from baby.

I found the eebee adventures DVD to be something akin to introduction on how to play with your baby, which made me realize all the every day things that I really could be utilizing in order to encourage exploration.  After watching “Laundry List” and the bonus feature on the DVD that talks to three experts about how children learn, I have realized that there is a whole level of play that I was really skipping over in my day-to-day interactions with baby.  So, you ask, has eebee made me a better mom?  While the jury is still out on that one, I do know that I have received 175% more belly laughs since introducing baby to eebee and that’s a percentage I can appreciate.

If the Shape Fits eebee Playset, plush made in China $32.00
Snuggle Time eebee with “Laundry List” DVD, plush made in China $19.95

Looks: Like a little wild haired and adorable plush friend for baby

Overall: I highly recommend at least one eebee DVD to all parents and more if their little one adores them like mine does.

Thank you to Every Baby for sending baby a little playmate of her own.  Playtime will never be the same.

eebes adventures – make learning fun

This is the summer of … No summer.  We’ve been having so much rain – I really can’t remember anything like this.  Already in Connecticut we’re way above average in the amount of rain that has fallen this July.

For many on vacation at lakes or cottages at the beach, wet weather means that cabin fever is striking.

Whether you’re on vacation, or a stay-at-home mom with toddlers, keeping the kids entertained can pose a challenge.

eebee logoI’ve recently had the opportunity to review three DVDs from eebes Adventures that provide educational and entertaining material to help you rise to the occasion.

eebee’s adventures are designed to engage you and your baby with rich play experiences that provide powerful lessons that memorizing letters, numbers, colors and shapes simply can and do not.

Watching and, importantly, “doing” eebee’s adventures will allow you and your baby to see and learn first-hand what happens when you explore a crinkly, crunchy, smooth and bumpy paper mountain or roll, bounce, bop, bang, slide and toss your way around a world of balls and ramps.

I received  Figuring Things Out which is just perfect for Slugger, who will be celebrating his First Birthday in August.

Now Slugger already is exhibiting tendencies that are quite different than what I’ve experienced with not only my own daughters, but my granddaughter.  He has new-found motor skills and a curiosity that won’t quit.  I liken him to a monster truck – he bulldozes over and through anything in his way.

When he uses a push toy – he’ll think nothing of picking it up in one hand to turn it around, whereas ‘Lil Moomette would stand there and pout until someone came along to help her.

The childrens dvd video FIGURING THINGS OUT will support his natural curiosity and interest in making things work and achieving goals on his own.

Here’s an interview from Parents TV with the Co-Founder and President Stephen Gass in which he discusses what eebee is all about:

Turning a light on and off, tracking a flashlight’s beam, and exploring the magic of playing with shadows are the focus of The Light Bulb Goes On adventure.

eebes adventures Figuring Things OutIn the video, the Adventures include:

  • The Lightbulb Goes On – cause and effect
  • Blocks and Tackling Ideas – planning and building

And in On the Go – setting goals, evaluating

  • All In a Day’s Play
  • Laundry List
  • Just You & Me
  • Little Objects, Big Ideas

And Exploring Real Stuff:

  • Brimming With Ideas
  • Out Of the Box
  • On A Roll

What I like about these DVDs is that each has been the Winner of a Parents’ Choice Award.

These would make terrific baby shower, new mom, birthday or holiday gifts, as well as an excellent edition to your personal DVD, daycare or homeschool collection.

Eebee Adventures Review and Giveaway

Let me Introduce to you one of my daughters favorite friends:
This is Eebee

“eebee bee-bee bee-bee bee-bee baby, eebee bee-bee bee-bee baby boo, eebee bee-bee bee bee-bee baby, eebee bee-bee baby, I love you!”

The first couple of days I was home with my daughter from the hospital I had no clue what to do with her. I mean I read all these parenting blogs and magazines on how to care for a baby. So I was completely comfortable with caring for her. I had no doubt in my mind I would be a good mom to her. What I mean is as I sat on the couch I thought should I play with her or watch kiddy shows or put her in the swing? I said to myself “let me see if there are any kiddy shows for her.” I had time warner at the time and went to kids on demand. That is when I first discovered Eebee. She was still quite young for him but I decided this is someone I want my daughter to get to know.

From the moment I turned it on I fell in love with the little guy. He is so colorful and friendly looking. I thought he was someone my daughter would be able to relate to when as she got older, and he was. As Rose got older she was able to relate to Eebee as being one of her peers. Eebee speaks in baby talk as his friend Kristy who is an adult teaches him all sorts of things and encourages him through positive reinforcement. Kristy is to Eebee what I am to Rose. For her first Christmas/ Hannakah Rose was about 3 months. We bought Rose an Eebee Doll . When she opened him she was in awe. He was pretty much as big as she was. Colorful and friendly looking, she was as in love with him as I was. I remember sitting with Rose on the floor with tissue paper as she immitated Eebee tearing up tissue paper on TV. She would look at the Eebee doll next to her then the Eebee doll on TV with disbelief. She thought it was very funny that he was with her and on TV. Now her Eebee doll sits at the table with her to have a tea party and she sits him to play as she plays toys. (Some may say she needs a sibling)

Rose watching eebee Adventures with eebee
When I came across @eebeebaby on twitter, I was excited to ask them if I could review their items on my blog. I am totally excited and I hope all of you are too!

About Eebee Adventures: Eebee Adventures are based on the latest research in child development. The best way for your child to learn is through play. Eebee is a charater that your child can watch on TV and play along with. He experiments with things the same way that your child does and teached them to think outside the box.

It is important for your child to learn their ABC’s and 123’s but Eebee teaches them other essentials of development by focusing on social, physical and cognitive skills.

I am extremely excited to have gotten in the mail I received three Eebee DVD’s to review. Each of the DVD’s are broken down into three 30 minute segments.
1- All in a Days Play
2- Exploring Real Stuff
3- Figuring Things Out

I sat down with my husband and my daughter Rose who is 21 months to review the DVD’s with me.

*The first DVD we watched was All in a Days Play. This DVD is for ages 6 months and up.
The three segments are Laundry List, Just You and Me, and Little Objects, Big Ideas
*The second DVD we watched was Exploring Real Stuff. This DVD is for ages 6 months and up.

The three segments are Brimming With Ideas, Out of the Box, and On a Roll
*The third DVD we watched was Figuring Things Out. This DVD is for ages 12 months and up.
The three segments are The Lightbulb Goes On, Blocking and Tackling Ideas, and On The Go
Eebee Adventures are created for children 6 months and up. Rose is 21 months and already talking. Rose enjoyed watching eebee and watching kids around her age on TV playing, learning and discovering new things. She related to the adult Kristy as Eebee’s Mom. Whenever Kristy wasn’t on screen she would ask “where is eebee’s mama?” Eebee Adventures is like watching a mom play with her child on TV, learning and discovering new things. We also loved the original music on the DVD. Everytime the music would come on, Rose would get up and dance to it. Eebee Adventures gave us new ideas on playing.
The DVD also has bonus features which give parents a lot of insight on child development and helps parents understand their child better.

Check out this ParentsTV interview with Stephen Gass, the co-founder and president of Eebee’s Aventures. In this interview he explains what Eebee is all about.

eebees philosophy

eebee’s adventures are designed to engage you and your baby with rich play experiences that provide powerful lessons that memorizing letters, numbers, colors and shapes simply can and do not.

We know that when your child is playing, she is actively trying to figure things out about objects and people—why did that ball roll and the block slide? How did he do that? Why did that happen?… The questions, theories and solutions just continue to evolve as your child develops and masters a myriad of critical physical, social and intellectual skills—playing and learning about how the world works and he works in it.

Every parent can recount a time when their infant headed straight for that curtain to give it a pull; or happily opted to tear the wrapping paper rather then engage with the gift; or tried and tried to get the round peg into the square hole; or simply offered you whatever was in their hand.

Babies will instinctively:

  • Take initiative and act on their natural curiosity
  • Make clear choices among different materials and experiences
  • Vary their strategies and try different approaches
  • Persist at a goal and stick to a task
  • Share their discoveries and seek social interaction

These are the real basic skills of your baby’s first years and these are the hallmarks of great thinkers and achievers. The research is clear that the best way for babies to grow and strengthen these skills—the skills they need to succeed in life—is to play.

Every baby learns by doing.

Eebee’s Adventures Review & Giveaway

I recently introduced you to Eebee, a cute little character with bright spiky hair that has become all the rage here in our household. Eebee’s Adventures is a new DVD series that gives you the tools to explore along with your baby and allows little one’s to learn about the simple world around them. Unlike many DVD’s on the market today, eebee’s adventures encourages parents and babies to interact and play out the activities together in an effort to assists babies in the learning process.

We put this idea to work with Lil’ Pea and poured an entire box of cheerios into a bowl and put it right in the middle of the living room (Don’t be shy, that’s what vacuums are for)! I gave her a few different cups and spoons and she was busy for a good hour, dumping, pouring, moving and even sticking her feet inside. I sat next to her and provided interaction by naming everything she did and eebee gave her ideas of what to do next.

What we love about eebee…
I think eebee’s Adventure’s sets itself apart from other programs in the market, in that it gives you, the parent, ideas of how to interact with your child, while allowing age appropriate exploration. I would have never thought to give Lil’ Pea a giant bowl of cheerios in the middle of my living room without eebee. Perhaps I’m just not creative enough! At the same time, parents and little ones can watch eebee explore the given activity and play along. Just think of it as a personal interaction expert at your fingertips.

You can purchase eebee’s Adventures by visiting eebee.com and if you purchase 3 DVDs you’ll score Free Shipping AND get 10% off! While your there check out the developmental toys like the eebee hand puppet, doll, books and play house!

A Giveaway Addicted Mommy

A while back I wrote a post about eebee. Little did I know eebee would soon take over our lives. Jake doesn’t really speak all that well yet but is able to say “eebee” though it comes out a little more like “bee-bee”. All we hear from the moment he gets up in the morning to when he goes to bed is, “bee-bee, bee-bee, bee-bee” He points to the TV and demands that we put the DVD on.

Jake sleeps with his eebee doll, so when the wonderful people at Every baby’s Adventuresoffered to send me the Snuggle Time eebee I thought this would solve the problem I knew was just around the corner. You know, when Luke decides he wants to sleep with Jake’s eebee? Snuggle Time eebee is a “soft, richly textured, and colorful friend is designed to engage your baby in a range of simple games and explorations, from hugging to gentle tugging, from peek-a-boo to puppet-time with you.” It really is super soft and cuddly. It also has little crinkly corners which Luke loves to crunch in his hands. It is now Luke’s lovey so crisis averted. Each child now owns their own eebee. Whew.

One of the great benefits of the eebee DVDs is how much Jake has learned. Yes, he has learned from them. One of the DVDs shows children scooping and pouring things out, transferring rice or cereal from one container to another. Jake now uses this skill with water, his snacks (which is a little messy but that is ok) and his toys. It is so wonderful to see his little brain working.

I don’t feel too guilty leaving him to watch an eebee DVD while I do the dishes or laundry. Though I will admit, I don’t get the appeal. I mean, eebee isn’t flashy or fast. In the DVDs, things move nice and slow, but the songs are catchy and I dare you not to find yourself singing, “The eebee Babble” at random times throughout the day. The ebee doll and snuggle time ebee don’t talk or dance. And it is nice to see a child be entertained by something that doesn’t need batteries.

Jake also loves books. He will generally pass up all the toys and head straight for a book to play with. He now has 3 great eebee booksAll About Me and You Adventures, Bath Time Adventures, and Laundry Time Adventures. The All About Me and You book is a board book with a mirror so that your child can see themselves do the things eebee tells him to do, like point at your nose and wave bye-bye. Bath Time Adventures is a book you can take in the bath! How cool is that? It squirts and squeeks as you go through the pages. But by far my favorite book is Laundry Time Adventures.

Laundry Time Adventures is an award-winning book (NAPPA Gold) where your child gets to do the laundry, eebee style. Children take the soft towels out of the laundry bag and put them “into the washer.” Spin the peek-a-boo washing-machine wheel to wash the laundry; hang eebee’s pajamas on the line; then put them away in the drawers. When the laundry’s done, they tuck eebee under a fluffy, fleece blanket. If only doing the real laundry was as much fun!

eebee has become like a 4th child around here. Which is fine with me. eebee doesn’t throw fits and never has to be changed. If only all my children were as well-behaved.

You can purchase eebee products online at the eebee website.

I think I have mentioned it before, but Tristan is a huge SpongeBob Squarepants fan.
He could watch SpongeBob all day long. He becomes so engrossed in it. Sometimes its the only way I can get him to eat. So what I am getting at is this……its time for a new show. I’ve been able to review the Eebee’s Adventures DVDs with Tristan and its been really fun for the both of us.

Eebee’s Adventures take you and your baby beyond letters, numbers, and simple shapes. Eebee’s Adventures start with a question such as:

How do I…? What happends when…? What if…? What if you…? What if it…?

Based on the latest research on how babies learna nd grow, Eebee’s Adventures focus on the important developmental skills that form in the foundation for all future learning.

Eebee’s Adventures encourage active learning, they are all about DOING!”

The three dvds we got were All in a days play, figuring things out!, and exploring real stuff.

Babies learn to turn lights on and off, build towers, and climb mountains!

Babies learn about the physical world around them by playing with cups, scoops, paper, boxes, balls, and blocks!

And so much more!

With Tristan developmentally delayed these are really right where he is when it comes to learning, and catching up. His favorite one is the Exploring real stuff dvd.

He loved it and laughed and when I was watching them with him he would sign “more” because he liked it so well. The fact they involved children/babies was great too.

These DVD’s would make a great baby shower gift for any new mom to be.

Eebees Adventures DVDs Review & Giveaway (Ends 8/14)

I know I shouldn’t let my kids watch television, but I do and thankfully there are so many great shows and DVDs. We tried Baby Einstein with my first son when he was little and it was okay for a while, but now I was introduced to Eebees Adventures, and my boys love it! With 75 minutes of video, these videos are so great and have so much to offer children!

Eebees Adventures is based on actual research of how babies learn and grow to form a foundation for future learning. By encouraging active learning and focusing on developmental skills, each DVD adventure contains real-world situations that babies can see and understand. By watching what the kids in the videos are doing, I think it is easier for the kids watching to learn from them and for some reason babies love people watching!

Gavin (12 months) and Aidan (29 months) have been watching these DVDs for a few days now and they seem to really enjoy them. We received three of Eebees Adventures to check out: Figuring Things Out (12 months and up), All In A Day’s Play (6 months and up), and Exploring Real Stuff (6 months and up). Throughout the videos there are kids building, playing music, experimenting with textures and surfaces, and basically doing everything your kids are trying to do!

Eebees Adventures also received the “National Parenting Center Seal of Approval,” amongst their many other awards won. Since it is not a cartoon, but actual kids playing and learning, I think that is why my kids enjoy it more. Cartoons all blend together and when my boys watch them, they get like a blank stare, but with Eebee’s Adventures both boys are really paying attention and trying to learn and mimic the kids.

I love their motto too: “Adventures for a baby? Absolutely. Every day. Everywhere. Every baby.” So if you are looking for something new, fun, and creative for your child to watch then I highly recommend Eebees Adventures. You can also check out a post I did a few weeks ago introducing Eebee!

BUY IT: You can buy Eebees Adventure at the Eebee Adventure’s website or look for it at your favorite book store!

Eebee’s Adventures Review & Giveaway

With so many products out there that profess they can help educate your child one begins to wonder what you actually need to have. From what I can tell, myself and those of my generation have turned out ok and we certainly didn’t have DVDs. There was however a lot of interaction with my mom and my grandmother because that’s just how things were done back then. In the first few years children learn by watching, doing and of course interaction with a parent or grandparent is the key to that. Which brings me to this question. Can parents or grandparents spend quality time with their child or grandchild while watching a DVD? The answer is very simply, yes.Earlier in the week I told you about Eebee and Eebee’s Adventures. What I like about Eebee’s Adventures is that it takes things back to the basics. They use simple concepts and present them in a fun entertaining way. I have gotten to take a look at the 3 DVDs that are in the series. What impresses me the most is that everything is simple and is based on research of how a baby learns and grows. Each DVD is broken down into three 10 minute adventures along with some bonus features such as Play by Play guides with expert commentary and original songs and music. Eebee’s Adventures has also won several awards; DVD of the Year from Parenting Magazine, the Parents’ Choice Award and has the approval of the National Parenting Center.More about the DVDs:
Exploring Real Stuff is all about exploration. Finding out what things are like. How does something feel or what happens when you do this or that.
All In A Days Play is about interaction with things that a baby comes into contact with on a daily basis. The pots and pans that you have in your cabinets may not seem like much but they can be very interesting. Putting things in and taking them out or even the sounds that they can make.
Figuring Things Out is about just that. Taking natural curiousity and putting new found skills to the test.

The Eebee’s Adventures DVDs retail for $17.95 each or as a set for $48.45. There are also books, toys and even clothing available.

Backs Spanish-Language Version of ‘Ebee’s Adventures’

Tommy Mottola, the music guru behind the successful careers of Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez and Celine Dion, is now delving in the field of entertainment for infants and toddlers.

eebeeMottola, the former chief of Sony Music Entertainment, is partnering with New York-based Every Baby Co. to launch a Spanish-language version of the award-winning serieseebee’s Adventures.

The new series, Las aventuras de eebee, features Thalía, 37, the Mexican telenovela actress-turned-singer who is married to Mottola. Several eight-minute episodes have already been taped in a New York studio and are slated to debut on V-me this fall.

“All of a sudden, there is an explosion of interest in the field of programming for children under 2 years old,” Stephen Gass, president and co-founder of Every Baby Co., toldHispanic TV Update. Gass, a former director of education for the Sesame Place theme park, says eebe’s Adventuresis targeted at babies age 6 months to 24 months.

The show’s main character, eebee, is a 1-year-old puppet of indistinct gender whose vocabulary is based mostly on baby blabber.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but according to Gass, it includes an equity investment in the Every Baby Co. by The Mottola Co., which will also play a role in the brand expansion. Every Baby and its co-founders, Gass and Don Burton, will manage day-to-day operations.

At launch, the Spanish-language eebee episodes will be broadcast as part of V-me’s children’s programming, with the goal of extending them later through DVDs, cable and video-on-demand.

The original eebee series is currently available on-demand via Comcast, Bresnan Communications and Cox Communications systems, and reaches 12 other providers via on-demand content aggregator Mag Rack.

eebee’s adventures transform everyday play into learning that lasts. The eebee videos are a series of adventures that takes your baby on a new journey of active learning. They use a different style of learning that is active and fun for your baby.   “eebee’s adventures,” created by every baby, inc. along with Sony Wonder, are a series of infant/toddler developmental DVDs designed to capture and build upon the wonder of seeing the world through a baby’s eyes. eebee is a cute baby-like puppet with colorfully funky hair who plays and interacts with Kristy in play situations using every day objects. The DVD’s also portray real babies playing with their parents. They are designed for ages 6 months and up, but I have to say…everyone in my house liked them. They are cute, fun and educational. It opens up new avenues for the parents and older kids to play with the little ones in ways you probably never thought of before. Based on active learning, rather than merely memorization, this series encourages you and your little ones to play along. The philosophy behind eebee’s adventures is “Every baby learns by doing.”

Each of the “eebee’s adventures” DVD is divided into three, 10-minute segments, which focus on a learning concept modeled by eebee and other babies. The following three DVD’s are currently available:

dvdcover_daysplay_lg* All in a Day’s Play: These adventures highlight the many teachable, unplanned and unscripted learning moments that fill a baby’s day. (developed for babies aged six months and up)

dvdcover_exploring_lg
* Exploring Real Stuff: eebee and playmates explore a range of materials and everyday objects. (developed for babies aged six months and up)

dvdcover_figuring_lg
* Figuring Things Out: What happens when a child’s newfound motor skills support his/her natural curiosity and interest in making things work and achieving goals? (developed for babies aged 12 months and up)

If you have a baby, are expecting one, or know of someone who is I highly recommend these DVD’s.

eebee’s adventures DVDs can be purchased individually for $17.95. You can also purchase the 3 DVD set for $48.45 with free shipping. Books, toys and clothing are also available

Frugal Rhode Island Mama

Today is day 7 of my Birthday Week and this is Giveaway #7.

A few weeks back I gave away an Eebee DVD and now I have some books. Eebee is a cute little guy/gal (not sure which one) that babies love. He’s made up of all different colors and has stringy hair and is absolutely adorable. My girls adore him and they are 2 and 4. We’ve watched the DVD’s over and over again.

There is a huge line of Eebee products you can buy online at Eebee Adventuresincluding some soft books. I love these books. They are soft, easy to handle, interactive, playful and fun!

I have two books to giveaway away to one (1) lucky Frugal RI Mama reader.

Have A Ball – It has a ball attached to it and Eebee is on the cover with hands that come out to catch the ball. You can have so much fun with this book and a baby, tossing the ball with Eebee catching it. So fun! Then you open the book and each page has something else you can do with the ball. You can hide the ball behind the pillows, toss the ball in the basket and put the ball in the wagon and move it along the page. Every page has something to touch and very interactive.

Laundry Time – This is another fun book! It’s all about what you do with the laundry. On the cover there is a towel coming out of the tub and you can take it and wash Eebee’s face. Then inside you can take the towels out of the basket and put them in the washing machine. You can hang the cloths on the line and then put them away in the draws. When you are all done, you can tuck Eebee in his bed and cover him with the clean blanket! Another fun interactive book that is so much fun and it has so much to touch.

Both these books are perfect for ages 9 months – 36 months. Some people might think that 36 months is pushing it, but my 4 year old really enjoys playing with them.

If you would like to enter this giveaway all you need to do is go to the Eebee Adventues website and tell me what you like most and leave me a comment. That’s it. I’m making this last one short and sweet!

Activity books: Eebee’s adventures

Eebee Adventure books are good first reads for babies and toddlers. I’ve never heard of Eebee until I got to look through some of books.

Laundry Time Adventures is perfect for babies to hold. Each soft page contains an activity with helping Eebee. Place the towels in the washer, watch the washing machine wheel move round and round, hang clothes on the line, and open and close the drawers.

The Have A Ball Adventures is fun to play with too. Place the ball through the basketball hop, put it in the wagon and make it go down a slide.

There’s also bath books. Kids will like squirting the water out of the shower head and making the shampoo bottle squeak.

Celebrity moms Brooke Shields and Jennifer Lopez are Eebee fans too. The books are $14.95 each and can be bought at eebee.com.

Sage and Savvy

We recently had a chance to watch several eebee’s adventures DVDs, which my boys and I really enjoyed, so I knew they’d also enjoy the eebee’s adventures books.

According to the website, “eebee’s adventures are designed to engage you and your baby with rich play experiences that provide powerful lessons that memorizing letters, numbers, colors and shapes simply can and do not…We know that when your child is playing, she is actively trying to figure things out about objects and people—why did that ball roll and the block slide? How did he do that? Why did that happen?… The questions, theories and solutions just continue to evolve as your child develops and masters a myriad of critical physical, social and intellectual skills—playing and learning about how the world works and he works in it…Every baby learns by doing.”

We were fortunate to receive the following books:
eebee’s HUG AND SPLASH adventures (ARV $14.95, two-book set):
all about me and you adventures: It’s an adventure all about eebee’s body, and your baby’s body, too. Each page is an interactive board game, designed especially for babies. Fold-out the book-sized mirror to ‘look and play’ along with eebee. Start anywhere. . . go anywhere! Look in the mirror! Invent your own playful games! Exercise your baby’s social, motor, language, and thinking skills, and explore baby’s body from head to toe!
I love going through this book with Smiley Boy, helping him learn different body parts. Instead of simply pointing to various body parts, the book encourages play and imagination, such as pretending to be awake and asleep when learning about eyes, and pretending to sneeze when learning about the nose. Smiley Boy’s favorite part is looking at himself in the mirror!

bath time adventures:
From playing with water to playing with words, this adventure is sure to float your baby’s boat! Open the book and place it cover-up in the tub. Watch eebee “float!” Submerge the book to fill the squirters—squeeze it for a gentle spray. Press eebee’s tummy — squeak — eebee’s all clean! As eebee takes a bath, your baby will play and learn with water!
This is the neatest bath book we have, because not only can it be read in the tub, but it can squirt water and it makes funny squeaky noises, which Little Music Man loves. Even when it’s not bath time I always hear him playing with the book (squeak, squeak, squeak…).

laundry time adventures (ARV $14.95):
There’s a load to learn from doing laundry with eebee! Take the soft towels out of the laundry bag and put them “into the washer.” Spin the peek-a-boo washing-machine wheel to wash the laundry; hang eebee’s pajamas on the line; then put them away in the drawers. When the laundry’s done, tuck eebee under a fluffy, fleece blanket. . . then enjoy creating your own laundry time adventures! Your baby will explore words, sounds, and textures; exercise fine-motor skills; play imaginatively. . . and get the laundry done!
I think it’s really clever how you can play with parts of the cloth book and use them on more than one page. For instance, after eebee’s pajamas are hung to dry, you turn the page and take those same pajamas and put them away in the drawers. Little Music Man’s favorite part of the book is the washing machine and making it go round and round.
eebee’s adventures books are so colorful and so much fun–fostering creativity, imagination, and play, and turning simple, every day activities into fun adventures!
Shop: You can purchase eebee’s adventures books, DVDs, and more on the eebee adventure’s website and at various retailers online and nationwide.

Kid Friendly…Mommy Approves

eebees adventures – GIVEAWAY!

RATING
Kids – 5
Mom- 5

Recently, I had the opportunity to review 3 DVD’s from Every Baby Company’s – eebees adventures. These DVD’s go beyond shapes, letters and number. Their mission is to show parents how babies can actively learn through everyday play and exploring. What I love most about these DVD’s is the fun, exploration of play through simple household items. Each one of these DVD’s really focuses on age appropriate development through use of play and interaction. It gives parents great ideas to get their children learning, developing, all while having fun! Another bonus is that the DVD starts immediately when you turn it on! There is no waiting, no having to go through a big process to get it started or wait through advertising! Fantastic eebee’s- thank you!

Don’t just take it from me, hear it directly from the creator of eebee’s adventure! Please watch the interview below with Steven Gast to learn all about the fundamentals of their DVD’s and toys. Babies learn through interactions and engagement play.

: Babies enjoy scrunching up paper, ripping and shredding. This tactile fun with difference textures and sounds. Not only is this good for their eye hand coordination but using a variety of colors and textures is fantastic for children. Sure it’s a mess when you are done, but tissue paper, cardboard boxes and bubble wrap is an inexpensive form of entertainment and truly is great for them in this development stage.

The Lightbulb Goes On
: Crazy that something so simple as flipping off a light switch can be so much fun for children and teach so much. I’m told that my very words were, “Light Off!” When your baby is developing, teaching them how and letting them flip the hall light off is so great for their development. They are learning the association of cause and effect, all while buildling their communication. This portion of the DVD gives parents some great ideas and fun play that they can do with their children all round the house. It’s great dramatic play while helping children learn association of objects.
